This Bison Pumps Side-By-Side Deep Well Pump System is designed to be used as a stand-alone pump to provide fresh water from a well or to be installed in your existing well casing Side-By-Side with your existing submersible electric pump. The Bison Pump is perfect for emergency back-up situations when the power is out. When these situations occur, the Bison Pump, with the Pressurizing System installed, can provide you with “Pressurized backup Water!” The details of how this system functions can be reviewed in the Side-By-Side Deep Well Pump Basics section.
This system cannot be used when there is an electric submersible pump installed in a well and the well casing is less than 5 inches in diameter. With a casing diameter this small, the two systems cannot fit Side-By-Side inside the well casing. In this situation, you will need to use a Stacked Deep Well Pump Systems, which does not require as much space inside the well casing and therefore can accommodate both systems.
If your static water level exceeds 250 feet or the pump will be in a high usage environment, you will need to consider the Heavy Duty Pump Head. This option enhances the handle operation system linkages and hardware. It also extends the handle length, allows for multiple people to pump simultaneously and can have counter-weights added.
Our Deep Well Pump System is a Lift Pump system consisting of a pump head which sits atop the well, PVC pipe and rod that reaches approximately 20 feet below static water level, and a cylinder which is the device that actually pumps the water to the surface.
All Side-By-Side deep well pump systems are the same except for the adapter, which is how the pump head body connects to the well and possibly to the internal electric submersible pump components. We use well pump adapters that are welded to the pump body to attach it to the well. There are four types of well pump adapters used for this purpose: Standard, Flat Flange, Submersible Connection and 2” Threaded. Please review the application for each adapter type listed below.
